Geek Week - Building Datacenter and Private Cloud

Join Markus Lassfolk and Mikael Nystrom, Microsoft MVPs and highly experienced datacenter builders, in this full week of intensive hands-on training based on all real-world experience!

You will learn how to build the next generation datacenter using a private cloud based, on Microsoft components and design.

You will learn how to configure and use Microsoft System Center and Hyper-V with software-defined networking and software-defined storage, including hardware choices and scaling.
There is no other training that provides the amount of knowledge and information you will receive during these intensive sessions.

To be as efficient as possible, we’ll begin on Sunday evening after you check into the hotel with a meet and greet. You will meet the instructors and other attendees over a drink, while we talk about the week, discuss your expectations, and get to know each other. (Yes, the hotel is included in the price of the training.)

On Monday morning, you’ll be the administrator of your own ViaMonstra Fabric with one clear goal: building, configuring, and managing a next-generation datacenter!
At the end of each day, we will return to the hotel and have opportunities to continue lessons in the hotel bar or discuss your specific challenges.
On Wednesday or Thursday, we will have a group dinner for all attendees!

And, by the way, when we say “experienced datacenter builders,” we mean that Markus and Mikael build at least one datacenter every month and sometimes more.

Included in the lab is also your own HP Proliant Microserver inclusive SSD storage and extra memory (value 9000 SEK) which you get to bring home after the lab!

The purpose of the server is that it’s a real server with all management capabilities so you can automatically and effectively learn to handle and do bare-metal deployments of new and proper hardware.
The server will also act as one of the Hyper-V hosts during the lab

Målgrupp

IT-Pros who wants to; - learn how to build a modern datacenter for an Enterprise or Hosting Environment. - learn how to build a Fabric based on Microsoft technology. - learn how to use the whole System Center suite and Windows Server for virtualization. - learn how to provide self-service to Customers or End-users and colleagues. - learn how to utilize software defined Network, Storage and Compute. - learn how to build fast, reliable and cost effective storage solutions based on Microsoft Storage Spaces - attend a fast passed training and learn from the professionals experience - have a lot of hands on time with the products and do everything by yourself - learn new ways to do things and utilize a lot of PowerShell - have a chance to discuss your challenges - learn best practices and things “outside the book”
