The key is not to prioritise what’s on your schedule, but to schedule your priorities.
Think of the schedule as a tool to be more effective in dealing with people first, then in terms of efficiency in dealing with time.
- Give participants practical example as to how they can estimate and schedule the work that is needed to progressively deliver project products. We will work specific scheduling methods, techniques and models and build competences on these.

Introduction and overview to the practice of Estimating & Scheduling work for projects based on product based planning.
We will cover the following three areas to give participants an overview to how they can carry out the estimating process under different circumstances.

Period 2 (10:15 – 12:00)
We will cover the four topics mentioned below to give participants a foundation on which to implement schedules.
- Preparing the requirements product breakdown structure to create a product work breakdown structure that can be used for scheduling.

Period 3 & 4 (13:00 – 16:00)
- Set up Microsoft Project
- Create a Schedule
- Baseline the schedule
- Simulate work scenarios with
- Rolling wave planning
- Schedule compression techniques to get the project back within time tolerances
A few things to think about:
This course is designed as a follow on course for the on “Requirements Development based on Product Based Planning”. Participants will benefit from doing that course first.
The instructor will be demonstrating the development of schedules using MS Project 2010.
