Linux system administration

Linux system administration

Course Summary

Linux administration involves a great deal of interaction with the system hardware and kernel, as well as the application of a large number of tools and applications. This course provides a hands-on approach to acquiring the essential skills of system administration and management. While going through the topics of administration, networking and troubleshooting, we take into account good practices, performance and security, all with the aim of achieving a high level of proficiency in working with the command line. The course is designed in such a way that it is also suitable as a conversion from Unix to Linux for existing Unix administrators. It is a fast-paced skills development with many practical exercises and troubleshooting. The course platform will be one of the Red Hat derivatives, such as CentOS or ScientificLinux. However, the discussions and material cover all major Linux areas, and whenever a specific tool, technique or method is relevant, SUSE, Debian and Ubuntu specifications are covered. For example, we discuss the unique approach used by different systems in areas such as system boot and software management
