Red Hat OpenShift Administration III: Scaling Deployments in the Enterprise (DO380) builds on the skills required to plan, implement, and manage OpenShift® clusters in enterprise environments. You’ll learn how to configure and manage OpenShift clusters at scale to meet increasing and specific demands from applications as well as ensure reliability, performance, and availability.

The course is based on Red Hat® OpenShift Container Platform 4.18.

Course Objective

This course builds on the foundational skills required to configure and manage an OpenShift 4.x cluster and teaches advanced skills for operating production environments at scale, including:

Configure cluster node groups with specific settings and ensure that only intended workloads are scheduled on those nodes.
Set up enterprise authentication and group management with legacy LDAP solutions and cloud-based OpenID Connect (OIDC) systems for identity management.
Deploy, manage, and search OpenShift logging, as well as configure log forwarding to external log management and security information and event management (SIEM) systems.
Automate cluster configuration and application deployment using OpenShift GitOps.
Troubleshoot application and cluster performance and availability issues using OpenShift Monitoring.
Configure and automate application-level backups using OpenShift APIs for Data Protection (OADP).

Target Group

Primary target group:

Platform engineers, system administrators, cloud administrators, and other infrastructure-focused IT roles responsible for implementing and managing infrastructure for applications.

Secondary target group:

Enterprise architects, Site Reliability Engineers (SRE), DevOps engineers, and other application-related IT roles responsible for designing infrastructure for applications.

Prerequisites

Complete Red Hat OpenShift Administration II: Configuring a Production Cluster (DO280) and become a Red Hat Certified OpenShift Administrator.
Complete Red Hat System Administration II (RH134) and become a Red Hat Certified System Administrator.
Recommended, but not required: become a Red Hat Certified Systems Engineer. Basic knowledge of writing and running Ansible playbooks is desirable.
