Red Hat Security: Identity Management and Authentication (RH362) provides skills for configuring and managing Identity Management (IdM), the comprehensive identity management solution included in Red Hat Enterprise Linux. The course helps participants develop the skills in this technology that are most in demand by customers.

Some of the topics covered in the course are central management and provisioning of user accounts, design and installation of IdM server architectures, operation of integrated DNS and TLS certificate services, management of two-factor authentication, smart card authentication, and use as a Single Sign-On provider. The course also covers integration and management of two-way trusts with Active Directory as well as troubleshooting and planning for disaster recovery. Registration of Linux clients to IdM and operation in enterprise environments that use both Linux and Microsoft Windows clients and servers is also included.

Course Objective

After completing this course, you will gain an understanding of the architecture behind an identity management environment and trusted relationships using both Red Hat Enterprise Linux Identity Management and Microsoft Active Directory. You will be able to create, manage, and debug user management structures, security policies, secure local and remote access methods, and implementation techniques such as Kerberos, PKI, and certificates.

You should be able to demonstrate the following skills:

  • Create and manage a scalable and robust Identity Management environment, including both Linux and Microsoft Windows clients and servers.
  • Create and manage secure access configurations, including managing and troubleshooting Kerberos, certificate servers, and access control policies.
  • Integrate IdM as the backend for other key enterprise tools in Red Hat’s portfolio, including Satellite Server and Tower.
