What is the difference between narrow AI and general AI?
Narrow AI is trained for a specific task – such as image recognition or translation – and cannot do anything outside of that area. General AI, which can resonate broadly like a human, does not yet exist in practice. All AI tools we use today are narrow AI.
What is the difference between machine learning and generative AI?
Machine learning is a broad technology in which models learn patterns from data. Generative AI is a subcategory that uses that technology to create new content—text, images, or code—based on the patterns it learned.
How does an AI model learn?
By being exposed to huge amounts of data and gradually adjusted until it becomes better at predicting the right answer. This is not programming in the traditional sense – the model finds the patterns in the data itself.
What is a prompt?
The text or instruction you submit to an AI tool is called a prompt. How you phrase the prompt greatly affects the quality of the response – clear, specific instructions produce better results than vague questions.
