This course teaches you how to use the Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform to automate migration and lifecycle management of virtual machines in Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization. You’ll gain hands-on skills in implementing the Ansible Automation Platform operator, migrating virtual machines from other hypervisors, and automating Day-2 operations in OpenShift environments.

Course Objective

After the course, you can:

Understand basic concepts, architecture, and use cases of Ansible and Ansible Automation Platform.
Deploy and configure the Ansible Automation Platform Operator, automation controller , and private automation hub in an OpenShift cluster.
Migrate virtual machines from another hypervisor to OpenShift Virtualization using the Migration Toolkit for Virtualization (MTV) and Ansible.
Automate the creation, management, and lifecycle management of virtual machines in OpenShift Virtualization.
Automate Day-2 tasks such as provisioning, managing compute resources, network configuration, and installing software in VMs.

Target Group

The course is aimed at:

Virtual machine administrators who want to move workloads from traditional hypervisors to OpenShift Virtualization.
Enterprise architects, system administrators, and automation architects who are responsible for designing, managing, and automating your organization’s VM infrastructure.

Prerequisites

Recommended prerequisites:

Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Virtualization (EX316) or equivalent experience in managing VMs in OpenShift.
No previous experience with Ansible is required, but Red Hat recommends the course Ansible Basics – Automation Technical Overview (DO0007).
Basic Linux knowledge is not necessary to manage OpenShift, but to administer Linux VMs it is recommended:
- Red Hat System Administration I (RH124)
- Red Hat System Administration II (RH134)
