Course description

Multicluster Management with Red Hat Advanced Cluster Management for Kubernetes (RHACM) teaches the skills necessary to manage a set of containerized applications and Kubernetes clusters by automating compliance with security, governance, and other organizational policies, as well as by implementing GitOps policies.

Please note: The course is offered as a 3-day classroom training, a 4-day virtual training or as self-paced self-study. The length may vary depending on the form of delivery. Course Objective

  • Describe and implement the RHACM architecture and its components, and follow recommended installation practices.
  • Import and manage a cluster using RHACM’s web interface, configure user access to clusters, and troubleshoot common issues when importing.
  • Deploy and manage policies in a multi-cluster environment using RHACM’s governance capabilities.
  • Monitor a group of managed clusters and troubleshoot performance and availability issues using RHACM’s observability components.
  • Deploy and manage applications in a multi-cluster environment using RHACM and GitOps.
  • Deploy and manage virtual machines in a multicluster environment using RHACM and GitOps.

Target Group

  • IT operations staff responsible for managing the lifecycle and monitoring the usage of multiple clusters.
  • DevOps and Site Reliability Engineers who are responsible for monitoring the health status of clusters and Kubernetes deployments and maximizing their availability. These people also automate the provisioning and decommissioning of clusters, as well as the placement of workloads based on capacity and policies.
  • Security operations personnel responsible for ensuring that Kubernetes deployments meet regulatory and organizational standards. These people create security policies for different environments and ensure compliance.

Prerequisites

  • It is highly recommended to have completed the Red Hat OpenShift Administration II: Configuring a Production Kubernetes Cluster (DO280) and the Red Hat Certified OpenShift Administrator exam (EX280), or to have equivalent knowledge in Kubernetes and OpenShift administration.
  • The following elective courses are recommended:
  • Red Hat OpenShift Administration III: Scaling Deployments in the Enterprise (DO380) is a course on how to configure and manage OpenShift clusters at scale to meet increasing and complex demands from applications as well as ensure reliability, performance, and availability.
  • Managing Virtual Machines with Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization (DO316) covers basic skills for creating and managing virtual machines in OpenShift using the Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization operator.
