Course overview

The course for those with no previous experience of Microsoft server operating systems. In the course, we go through the different variants that exist, licensing models, hardware requirements and the different parts included. We also have a brief review of Active Directory Directory Services and integration with clients as well as an introduction to PowerShell and its possibilities for scripts for administration The course is version-independent, ie it is adapted to the latest version but and addresses differences from previous versions. The course mixes theory and practice.

Course Objective

After the course, you will have:

  • Overview of Microsoft Windows Server and its variants
  • Understanding of licensing models and hardware requirements
  • Basic knowledge of Active Directory Directory Services and integration with clients
  • An introduction to PowerShell and its Windows Server administration capabilities

  • Newly qualified IT technicians
  • Contractors who will work in IT
  • Project managers working on projects other than IT projects
  • Others who want to be able to participate in technical calls

Prerequisites

  • Used to working in Windows interface
  • Basic knowledge of networks and TCP/IP.
  • Understanding of the hardware included in a modern PC

Certification

This course does not have any associated certification. Each participant who completes the course receives a course certificate.

Trainer

This training is delivered by Jörgen Strandberg.

Jörgen is an IT consultant with over 40 years of experience in various areas from hardware to architecture, security and software development. For several years, the focus was on design and security in large IT systems with private and public actors. Jörgen is probably one of the most certified consultants in Sweden with around 70 certifications from Microsoft, VMware, Symantec, HDI, etc.

Today, Jörgen works with developing advanced software for secure integration of external data sources into internal systems. Jörgen likes to share his knowledge and experience and has trained at Informator since 1996.
