The ISTQB Advanced Level Test Analyst Course is a 3-day course covering advanced topics for software testers. The course is accredited by ISTQB and is based on the ISTQB Advanced Test Analyst Syllabus (v4.0). The course includes exercises and practical exam questions to highlight key aspects of the syllabus and to help participants understand and practice the concepts and methods presented.
Upon completion of the ISTQB® Certified Tester Advanced Level Test Analyst course, participants will have an advanced understanding of test design techniques and be fully prepared to take the ISTQB® Certified Tester Advanced Level Test Analyst exam.
To provide the skills needed to perform structured and thorough software testing across the SDLC. The course discusses issues and techniques that go beyond the ISTQB Foundation level and provides participants with advanced knowledge and skills required to become more proficient in their job.
This training is designed for testers, test analysts, test engineers, test consultants, software developers and anyone who wants to take the ISTQB Advanced Level Technical Test Analyst Certificate. The Advanced Level certificates are also suitable for anyone who wants a deeper understanding of software testing, such as project managers, quality managers, software development managers, business analysts, IT managers and management consultants.
To take the ISTQB Advanced Test Analyst Certificate, candidates must hold the ISTQB Foundation certificate.
As part of the course, you will receive an online certification voucher provided by Informator. After completing the course, go to the sstb.se website to book your exam.
The training is held by our ISTQB accredited partner Grove Software Testing Ltd.
The activities of the test analyst within the basic testing process are covered with emphasis on the tasks of test analysis, design, implementation and execution. This section also discusses various test products that the test analyst creates and maintains, such as test cases, test environment requirements, test oracles, test data requirements, and keyword-driven testing.
Risk-based testing is a testing approach that prioritizes testing efforts based on the risk levels of test items. The test analyst plays an active role in the implementation of this approach.
The course discusses the role of the test analyst in implementing a risk-based testing approach, how they help the test manager to monitor the risks, manage the risks with appropriate tests and update the risk mitigation measures based on changes in the system.
In this chapter, advanced testing techniques, both blackbox testing techniques and experience-based testing techniques, were introduced, including domain testing, combinatorial testing, random testing CRUD testing, scenario-based testing, metamorphic testing, and crowd testing. The course also extends state transition testing, decision table testing, test charters and checklists introduced in the Foundation Level.
The specific software quality attributes that apply to the test analyst are functional correctness, suitability and completeness as well as the non-functional areas of usability, flexibility and compatibility. The course describes how to go about testing these quality attributes
The Test Analyst shall be involved in improving the effectiveness of testing by implementing defect prevention activities to reduce the likelihood of (re)occurrence of defects in work products and mitigate the spread of defects to subsequent phases of the SDLC. As part of the team, the Test Analyst can use his/her testing knowledge and experience to support defect prevention.
