Course Summary

Professional Scrum Master – Advanced is a two-day course for those who have experience in the role and want to take the next step as a Scrum Master. The course deepens the ability to create more value by applying Scrum’s values and principles in complex, real-life situations.

We work with real-life challenges with discussions, reflection, flipcharts, exercises and concrete application – completely without slides. The focus is on exploring the role through the different stances that characterize an effective Scrum Master: teacher, coach, facilitator, mentor and change agent.

This is a partner course and therefore not covered by the Informator start guarantee.

Course Objective

The Scrum Master role is complex so you need to be able to apply different approaches (stances) to be effective. We will look at:

Teachers – Explains, educates and makes principles and purpose understandable
Coach and mentor – Asking questions, guiding and developing individuals and teams
Facilitator – Leads conversations, creates safety, enables conflict management
Change agent – Influences the environment, culture and system

Exploring the different perspectives usually provides many ideas on how you can develop as a Scrum Master.

By then actively thinking about which approach is appropriate in each situation, you can act in the best way to help your team and organization be even more successful.

Target Audience

This training is aimed at those who:

Has experience of being a Scrum Master
Working with agile teams and want to develop your understanding of Scrum
Is a manager, coach, team leader or has another role with responsibility for delivery or change management

Prerequisites

The PSM-A course is a continuation course and assumes that participants have experience in the Scrum Master role. You need to be familiar with Professional Scrum and knowledge equivalent to having passed the PSM I test.

Certification

After the course, you will have the opportunity to take an online certification test to become certified as a Professional Scrum Master Level II.
If you take the test within two weeks, you will also have the opportunity to take a second attempt free of charge if you do not pass on the first attempt.
The course also includes a 40% discount on one attempt at the more advanced PSM-III test.
The certification, PSM-II, is the only one on the market issued by Scrum’s creator, Ken Schwaber.

Trainer

The trainer of this course is one of the senior agile coaches from ProAgile.

They all have many years of experience in successfully working practically with Scrum and agile transformations in teams and organizations. That is, you will get practically relevant answers to the questions addressed during the course.

All are also certified by Scrum.org as Professional Scrum Trainers.

Course Details

We do not use slides during the course and there are a lot of exercises and discussions based on cases and real situations.

We work with real-life scenarios: e.g. conflicts, lack of “Done”, weak support from the environment, …
You will try out over 20 different exercises and techniques that you can immediately take home and use in your organization, such as empathy maps, mood barometers, product owner interviews, and ways to measure whether your efforts contribute to real improvements over time
You build insight into how you can support the PO and the organization – not just the team
You develop your ability to operate on three levels: teams, relationships, systems
