Course overview

The role of a product owner is multifaceted and often means that different situations require different skills and perspectives. From the PSPO course, we always have to see “what kind of value are we looking for” and thoughts about leadership and how we create innovation space and power.

Course Objective

Develop your knowledge and abilities in the various settings a product owner adopts:

Customer Representative – understand customers’ problems, challenges and potential opportunities
Visionary – Communicate the vision, future situations and opportunities that create a common understanding
Experimenter – Focus on innovation, hypothesis testing, and validation of potential value to foster innovation
Influencers – Communicate and influence stakeholders, customers, and the Scrum team to act on a common purpose
Collaborator – Actively seek feedback and ideas from others
Decision makers – Focus on creating maximum impact through clear decisions

Target Group

PSPO-A is for product owners who want to broaden their knowledge and explore many of the issues that the PSPO course does not address. Through a handful of different “lenses”, we follow a fictional but realistic case, where we meet different stakeholders, challenges and difficulties. We practice handling the situations and evaluate different strategies.

Prerequisites

This course assumes experience as a product owner and is recommended for people who have passed PSPO-I. You are assumed to have some basic knowledge of agile thinking and Scrum.

Preparation

To prepare for the course, we recommend that you do the following:

Reading through the EBM guide
Take the open tests at Scrum.org to get an idea of your current level, we recommend Scrum Open and Product Owner Open

Certification

This course includes an attempt to obtain the PSPO II certification.

After the course, you will receive a password via email. You can then take the test online within two weeks. The test has 40 questions (English), which must be answered in 60 minutes and 85% correct is required to be certified as PSPO II.

Certifications taken at Scrum.org last a lifetime and are the only ones on the market issued by Scrum’s creator, Ken Schwaber.

If you want to challenge yourself further, you will also receive a discount code that gives you a 40% discount on the most advanced certification test, PSPO III.

Trainer

This training is delivered in collaboration with ProAgile.
