Welcome to ITIL® 4 Specialist: Sustainability in Digital & IT Learning Objectives

This module outlines the main features of the course, such as the learning plan, structure, aims, and objectives. It also revisits points from ITIL 4 Foundation and describes the written assignments that form part of the course.

Candidates also receive a syllabus, diagram pack, glossary, and further reading and links document with URLs for downloading essential copies of the framework publications.

Finally, the module addresses several frequently asked questions.

Module 1: Key Concepts Learning Objectives

The first part of this module introduces the key concepts of sustainability.

Chapter 2 examines the UN ‘Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)’ and how they help organizations achieve sustainability.

Chapter 3 goes on to explain the ‘Triple Bottom Line (TBL)’ model, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), and the benefits that sustainability can bring to a business.

Module 2: What is the Vision? Learning Objectives

This module begins by addressing the ‘What is vision?’ step of the sustainability journey. Chapter 1 also introduces key terms and learning outcomes for the module.

Chapter 2 expands on the role and structure of a ‘sustainability vision’, as well as sustainability models, issues, solutions, and concepts. These are explored in greater depth in Chapter 3.

Chapter 4 goes on to look at how digital technology impacts sustainability.

Module 7: Take Action Learning Objectives

This module addresses the ‘Take action’ step of the sustainability journey. Chapter 1 goes over the key terms and learning outcomes of the module and provides an overview of the step itself.

Chapter 2 describes the challenges of achieving sustainability in a VUCA environment (Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, Ambiguity). It also looks at how to use the Cynefin model and sense-making to address these challenges.

Chapter 3 examines how several ITIL management practices support sustainability. It also looks at how to shape ongoing activities in the context of sustainability.

Module 8: Did we get There? Learning Objectives

This module addresses the ‘Did we get there?’ step of the sustainability journey. Chapter 1 also introduces key terms and learning outcomes for the module.

Chapter 2 examines the tools organizations use to measure and report on the status and progress of sustainability.

Chapter 3 introduces the final written assignment of the course. It also provides a summary of the key points covered in this module.

Module 9: How do we Keep the Momentum Going? Learning Objectives

This module addresses the ‘How do we keep the momentum going?’ step of the sustainability journey. Chapter 1 also introduces key terms and learning outcomes for the module.

Chapter 2 looks at the ways in which governance, auditing, communication, collaboration, and innovation can support sustainability.

Module 10: Review Modules 6-9 Learning Objectives

This module provides candidates with an opportunity to review the knowledge they have gained so far. The module features a memory game to aid in recalling key terms, as well as a concept checker for candidates to test their understanding of essential concepts covered in modules 6-9.

Module 11: Practice exams Learning Objectives

This module provides two practice papers for the ITIL Specialist: Sustainability in Digital & IT examination. One is provided by AXELOS, while the other was created in-house by Good e-Learning. Both exams are available via the online platform and in PDF format.

Module 12: wrap-up Learning Objectives
