Welcome to M_o_R Foundation Learning Objectives

This module introduces this M_o_R e-learning course, including its structure, aims, objectives, and learning plan. Students are given a diagram pack, glossary, syllabus, and further reading and links document. The module also contains a list with links to download copies of essential M_o_R publications.

Finally, the module addresses some of the most common questions on the framework.

Foundation Module 1: Introduction to M_o_R Learning Objectives

This module offers an overview of the M_o_R framework, along with the actions involved in implementing it. It goes on to list the benefits of risk management and list out the perspectives and risk specialisms of M_o_R, as well as how they are used in practice.

Foundation Module 2: The M_o_R Perspectives Learning Objectives

This module outlines the four M_o_R perspectives along with the roles and responsibilities associated with them. It then looks at the Central Risk Function and Enterprise Risk Management (ERM).

Foundation Module 3: The M_o_R Principles Learning Objectives

This module looks at the eight M_o_R Principles and their purposes and outcomes. It goes on to outline the tools and techniques used to identify context and engage with stakeholders.

Foundation Module 4: The M_o_R Approach Learning Objectives

This module looks at how to develop a suitable approach to risk management before taking students through each of the documents required to do so.

Foundation Module 5: Memory Game Learning Objectives

This module contains a memory game on each of the key terms related to the framework’s Principles, Perspectives, and Approach.

Foundation Module 6: The M_o_R Process Part 1 Learning Objectives

This module outlines the four process steps of M_o_R. It looks at the ‘Identify’ step in more detail, as well as several valuable associated tools and techniques.

Foundation Module 7: The M_o_R Process Part 2 Learning Objectives

This module continues looking at the four M_o_R process steps. The Assess, Plan, and Implement steps are explained in greater detail. Several tools and techniques linked to each process are also covered. The module finishes by describing the different options for risk response and contingency planning.

Foundation Module 8: Embedding and reviewing M_o_R Learning Objectives

This module examines how to review and embed the framework via a risk management health check and maturity model. It also covers how value can be measured, as well as how to overcome several common barriers in risk management.

The module finishes by answering several of the most common questions on M_o_R practitioners.

Practitioner Module 1: Foundation Recap 1 Learning Objectives

This module revisits the Perspectives, Approach, and Principles of the framework. It then moves on to measuring the value of M_o_R and risk management before addressing several supporting documents, such as the Issue Register.

Practitioner Module 2: Foundation Recap 2 Learning Objectives

This module revisits the M_o_R process. It also reminds candidates of how to embed and review M_o_R in a business. The module goes on to describe the techniques and tools included in the framework and how they are applied at different stages of the process.

Practitioner Module 3: M_o_R Practitioner Scenario Introduction Learning Objectives

This module introduces candidates to the course scenario. This is used to offer guidance on what kind of questions are included in the M_o_R Practitioner exam.

The module goes on to outline the rest of the course, including how the scenario will be revisited.

Practitioner Module 4: The Strategic Perspective Learning Objectives

This module focuses on a scenario-based test situation. Students are asked to consider the application of the framework from different perspectives. It finishes with a 20-mark exam with questions addressing the scenario from the Strategic Perspective.

Practitioner Module 5: The Programme Perspective Learning Objectives

This module returns to the scenario, this time looking at it from the Program Perspective. After covering how to realistically apply the framework from this viewpoint, it finishes with a 20-mark exam.

Practitioner Module 6: The Project Perspective Learning Objectives

This module returns to the scenario, this time looking at it from the Project Perspective. After covering how to realistically apply the framework from this viewpoint, it finishes with a 20-mark exam.

Practitioner Module 7: The Operational Perspective Learning Objectives

This module returns to the scenario, this time looking at it from the Operational Perspective. After covering how to realistically apply the framework from this viewpoint, it finishes with a 20-mark exam.

Practitioner Module 8: M_o_R Practitioner Wrap-up Learning Objectives

This module summarizes the key points covered earlier in the course. Students are advised to revisit each module as they prepare for the exam.
