Interview with ChatGPT trainer Immo Salo

Hello Immo, thank you for taking the time to answer a few questions.

Firstly, how and when did you get to know ChatGPT?

As a keen follower of OpenAI’s developments, I was thrilled when ChatGPT was announced and made available to the public. From the moment I heard about its release, I knew that I had to try it out for myself. Since then, I have been actively testing its capabilities and following the public discussions around this exciting technology. Through my exploration and study, I have come to appreciate the immense potential of ChatGPT in transforming the way we communicate and interact with intelligent systems.

What area of use do you find the most exciting, and in what area do you think ChatGPT will be most revolutionizing?

I am particularly excited about the potential of ChatGPT in the areas of content creation and software development projects. From my experience, I believe that ChatGPT can be a game-changer in these fields, helping to streamline workflows and enhance the quality of outputs. As we continue to explore the capabilities of this technology, I am eager to see how it will transform the day-to-day work of professionals in these areas, and I am confident that its impact will be significant and far-reaching.

Are there any areas where there is a lot of talk about ChatGPT but where you don’t think it will work/have a lot of impact?

It is difficult to identify any area of work where ChatGPT will not have an impact. While it may not directly affect manual work, it has the potential to revolutionize many other industries and fields. That being said, it’s important to recognize that with any new technology, there can be overenthusiasm and unrealistic expectations. While ChatGPT has the potential to be a powerful tool, it’s important to approach its implementation with a realistic and measured approach. Through careful consideration and thoughtful integration, I am confident that ChatGPT can deliver real and significant benefits in a wide range of industries.

Are there any areas you think will be watered down/lose its importance with the arrival of ChatGPT?

While the impact of ChatGPT will be significant in many areas, there are some specific industries and fields where its influence may be less pronounced. For example, content creation that involves unambiguous creative goals may not benefit as much from ChatGPT’s capabilities. Similarly, routine-oriented knowledge-work that is abundant with daily routines of middle-managers, different kinds of experts, and software developers may not be as directly affected by this technology. Nonetheless, I believe that ChatGPT will continue to find new and innovative applications in a wide range of industries and fields, and its potential to transform the way we work and communicate is truly exciting.

And will you tell us a bit about your background?

I have been fortunate to work in the areas of public speaking, teaching, and ICT consulting since 2003, with a focus on cloud computing, analytics, and AI. Over the years, I have had the privilege of working with a diverse range of clients in Finland, France, and Belgium, helping them to achieve their goals and make the most of the latest technological advances. Through my experience, I have developed a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities that arise in these areas, and I am passionate about helping others to navigate and excel in this ever-evolving landscape.
